- Release 13 Dec 7 1995
-
- This is a set of BBEdit extensions aimed to assist HTML writing with the
- Macintosh. It's freeware: you can get this soft, use it and give copies
- to anyone, freely. But if you want to include the package in a CD-ROM,
- I'd like that you drop me a note so I can keep track of my work. I know
- it's in a lot of disks from Bare Bones Software, Macmillan Computer
- Publishing and many others, and I am very grateful to all of them. Some
- ads suggested that my extensions are in Apple CD's too, but it has been
- hard to guess it right, because somebody in the Apple headquarters
- thinks that there is no need to answer e-mail sent to
- <ABS.NETINFO@applelink.apple.com>.
-
- How to install the software
-
- These tools require System 7 and BBEdit or BBEdit Lite 3.5 or later.
-
- Get BBEdit and install it. Get the extensions package and uncompress it
- (just double-click it, it's a self-extracting archive). You will get:
-
- * Read me
- * What's new in release 13
- * use.html. The real documentation.
- * figures. Some figures for use.html.
- * HTML extensions (upper case). The extensions' files (upper case
- versions).
- * HTML extensions (lower case). The extensions's files (lower case
- versions).
-
- Drag the individual HTML extensions files (from one of the HTML
- extensions folders) onto the BBEdit extensions folder that comes with
- BBEdit. From now on the HTML extensions will show under BBEdit
- Extensions menu (you can also set your preferred equivalent keystrokes
- to access the extensions) or the Internet menu if you are using BBEdit
- 3.5 and Internet Config.
-
- If you are using BBEdit 3.5 you can drop the HTML extensions folder
- itself onto the BBEdit extensions folder. This will give you a
- hierarchical submenu and a floating palette from the Extensions menu.
-
- About BBEdit
-
- BBEdit is a powerful text editor for the Macintosh. It provides an
- extension mechanism so that you can develop your own external commands,
- like these HTML extensions.
-
- BBEdit is a commercial product by Bare Bones Software. You can get a demo
- version or a freeware, less complete version, called BBEdit Lite, from the
- Bare Bones FTP Area:
-
- <http://www.tiac.net/biz/bbsw/ftp.html>
-
- The HTML extensions work with both versions, BBEdit and BBEdit Lite.
-

-
- Aknowledgements
-
- I am grateful to Jordi Adell for encouraging and testing the development of
- the HTML extensions.
-
- Also I want to thank:
-
- * Bare Bones Software, makers of BBEdit, for supporting this kind of
- extensions.
- * Symantec Corporation, makers of the THINK C compiler.
- * Aleksandar Totic at Netscape Communications Corporation, who kindly
- answered my questions about the Netscape Apple Events suite.
- * All the people who e-mail me sending comments.
- * All the companies and people asking for permission to distribute this
- software in their CD-ROM's.
